Francis (a.k.a. Frank) Trickey was a 24 year old Bangor, Maine merchant when he enlisted and was mustered in as a Private of Co. A 2nd Maine Volunteer Infantry. Promoted to 1st Sargent then commissioned 2nd Lt. before his mustering out with the 2nd Maine, Trickey would see action at 1st Bull Run, the Siege of Yorktown, Hanover Court House, Mechanicsville, Ganes’ Mill, Savage Station. Malvern Hill and others as well as participating in such as the Battle of Fredericksburg, the Mud March and the Battle of Chancellorsville. Returning to Bangor Trickey operated a grocery there with Sgt. Charles Lovejoy of his old Co. A of the 2nd Maine. The last survivor of the Regiment, Trickey died at age 96 on June 1932.
